The HC-SR04 range sensor is mounted on the nice red sensor holder, which I mounted on a 9g servo horn – as you saw at the top of this page.

I had to drill out the too-small holes that were present on the “head” as the screws would not fit into the tiny pre-drilled holes.

I used a small clear servo mount to hold the SG-90 servo, on which I mounted the sensor holder, making Hobbit’s face.

Note the short microUSB cable powering the Raspberry Pi (and Pi Droid Alpha plus sensors) from the USB battery bank.

Here you can see the connections between the motors, motor battery, and Pi Droid Alpha:

One really nice feature of the Patriot Fuel+ battery I am using is that it can be charged while still powering the Raspberry Pi – so no need to disconnect/reconnect the Pi’s power cable, if Hobbit is running out of juice, just start charging the USB powerbank!

The USB powerbank lasts a lot longer than the motor’s 4xAA rechargeable battery pack, fortunately the AA batteries can be swapped out.

If you are going to use your bot a lot, you might want to get several sets of rechargeable AA batteries!
