It can seem pretty confusing at first – so I will explain what they do.

Jumpers select between Pi 5V and VServo For Servo1-4 and Servo5-8.

For each Servo pin Function
SIP Resistor 9 pins
Resistor forms voltage divider
Servo SIG pin 5V input/output
Servo VCC pin 5V/VBat power
Servo GND pin Ground

If you are using the motor driver on Pi Droid Alpha, Servo 7 & 8 are used to control the motors.

You can see the servo cable running from the servo to the first servo connector on Pi Droid Alpha above.

DIO A0-A7 and B0-B7 Digital I/O Pin Functions

For DIO A0-A7 and B0-B7 VCC is 5V from the Pi. For more details, please see the Pi Droid Alpha User Manual, available on the product page:

https://www.mikronauts.com/raspberry-pi/pi-droid-alpha/

For each DIO pin Function
DIO SIG pin 5V input/output
DIO VCC pin 5V power
DIO GND pin Ground

If you are using the L293D motor driver on Pi Droid Alpha, DIO A4-A7 are used to control Motor 1 and 2 direction as follows:

DIO A4 = Motor 1, DirA
DIO A5 = Motor 1, DirB
DIO A6 = Motor 2, DirA
DIO A7 = Motor 2, DirB

Note you can only control a maximum of six servos when you use the motor driver, or eight when you do not use it – if you need more than 6-8 servos, you are better off going with a RoboPi controller, which can control up to 24 servos – but does not have a motor driver on-board.
